Sporidex 500mg Capsules are primarily used to treat:

- Effective against many penicillinase-producing bacteria
- Can be used during pregnancy if clearly needed

How It Works
Cefalexin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This action leads to the weakening of the bacterial cell wall, resulting in cell lysis and death. Its structure allows for stability against certain beta-lactamases.
Dosage
The typical adult dose is 250mg to 500mg every 6 hours, or 500mg to 1g every 12 hours. For severe infections, dosage may be increased to 4g daily. Children’s dosage is based on body weight. Always follow your doctor’s specific dosing instructions.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach upset. Rarely, more serious side effects such as severe allergic reactions or Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea may occur. Consult your healthcare provider if you experience any unusual symptoms.
Warning
Sporidex should only be used under medical supervision. Immediate medical attention is required if signs of an allergic reaction occur. Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Sporidex 500mg Capsules is generally considered safe for use during pregnancy when clearly needed. It is excreted in human milk in small amounts. Consult your healthcare provider for guidance if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
