The CeraVe definitely moisturizes the skin deeply with glycerin as its main ingredient. Glycerin is a fantastic humectant and is generally hypoallergenic, which makes it great for sensitive skin. What’s lovely about the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion is that they’ve made the formula quite lightweight! It’s smack in the middle between a gel and a lotion.
It has three different types of ceramide and hyaluronic acid to keep skin smooth and supple. I like that the ceramide ingredients are on the upper third of the ingredients list so there’s a good chance that they’re actually functional actives – not just added as a “pa-bida” ingredient that doesn’t do much.
The formula is scent-free (meaning it has no discernible smell) and fragrance-free (meaning there’s no fragrance added). Again, plus points for those with sensitive skin.
I like using this lotion because it boosts my skin moisture in a way that I can feel, without it actually being uncomfortable. It can be used during the day time too, unlike the E47!
Can it be used on the face? Yes it can! It would be great for dry sensitive skin. For me though, it’s too heavy for my oily-combination face. I think if I were traveling to somewhere cold my face would absolutely love it, but here in the Nigeria it’s a no go. I would recommend this to a different skin type but yes, it’s not for the oily folks.
