Collomak Topical Solution is a specialized wart removal formulation containing Salicylic Acid (20%), Lactic Acid (5%), and Polidocanol 600 (2%). This triple-action formula effectively treats common warts, plantar warts, and calluses by dissolving keratin, exfoliating affected skin, and providing mild anesthetic relief.
Uses
Collomak Topical Solution treats various types of warts including common warts (verruca vulgaris), plantar warts (verruca plantaris), and stubborn calluses. It’s particularly effective for warts on hands, feet, knees, and elbows. Not suitable for use on facial warts, genital warts, or warts with hair growing from them.
Benefits
- Dissolves keratin in warts for effective removal
- Provides gentle but thorough exfoliation of affected areas
- Reduces pain with mild anesthetic effect
- Works on multiple wart types and calluses
- Penetrates deeply into wart tissue
- Stimulates immune response to help fight viral cause

How It Works
Salicylic acid breaks down and dissolves keratin proteins in warts and calluses. Lactic acid enhances penetration and provides additional exfoliation of dead skin cells. Polidocanol offers mild anesthetic properties to reduce discomfort during treatment. This combination effectively removes abnormal skin growth while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
How To Use
- Soak the affected area in warm water for 5-10 minutes before application
- Gently dry the area completely with a clean towel
- Protect surrounding healthy skin with petroleum jelly
- Apply Collomak directly to the wart using the applicator brush
- Allow solution to dry completely (approximately 1-2 minutes)
- Cover larger warts with a bandage if desired (not required for small warts)
- Apply once daily, preferably at bedtime
- Continue treatment until wart is completely removed (usually 1-3 weeks)
- File down dead skin gently with emery board between applications
- Wash hands thoroughly after each application
Dosage
Age Group | Application Frequency | Treatment Duration |

Adults & Children >4 | Once daily | 1-3 weeks (until wart removal) |
Children 2-4 | Every other day | Consult physician |
Apply a thin layer only to the wart or callus, avoiding contact with surrounding healthy skin.
Duration of Action
Collomak begins working immediately upon application. Initial softening of the wart tissue occurs within 24-48 hours. Most warts show significant reduction after 1 week of consistent treatment. Complete removal typically requires 1-3 weeks depending on wart size and location. Stubborn or larger warts may require longer treatment.
Side Effects
Common side effects include mild burning sensation, temporary redness, or skin irritation at application site. Less common effects include excessive peeling, skin dryness, or discoloration. Rare but serious side effects requiring discontinued use include severe burning, pain, bleeding, or signs of infection.
Warning
For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or healthy skin. Do not use on diabetic foot, areas with poor circulation, irritated skin, or moles. Discontinue use and seek medical attention if excessive irritation, infection, or bleeding occurs. Keep out of reach of children.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Use during pregnancy only when clearly needed and with healthcare provider approval. Limited systemic absorption when used as directed suggests minimal risk during breastfeeding, but consult healthcare provider before use.
Interaction
- May enhance effect of other keratolytic agents
- Could increase irritation when used with retinoids
- Avoid concurrent use with other wart treatments
- May increase effect of topical medications applied afterward
- Could reduce effectiveness if used with thick moisturizers
Precaution
Do not apply to birthmarks, moles, genital warts, facial warts, or warts with hair growing from them. Diabetic patients should consult physician before use due to increased infection risk. Avoid breathing vapors. Test on small area first if you have sensitive skin. Store tightly capped in original container at room temperature.
Important Information
Collomak treats symptoms but not the underlying viral cause of warts. Some warts may recur after treatment. Seek medical advice for warts that are painful, bleeding, changing in appearance, or not responding to treatment after 3 weeks. Keep solution away from flames and heat as it is flammable. Close cap tightly after use to prevent evaporation and maintain potency.
