Accu-Chek Active Test Strips are designed for use with the Accu-Chek Active blood glucose meter system, allowing for convenient at-home blood sugar monitoring. These strips work in conjunction with an Accu-Chek sofclix lancet and your monitor to provide optimal results.
Uses
Accu-Chek Active Test Strips are used for measuring blood glucose levels in individuals with diabetes. They provide a quick and accurate way to monitor blood sugar levels from the comfort of your home.
Benefits
- Requires only a small blood sample (a single drop)
- Compatible with Accu-Chek Active blood glucose meter system
- Allows for convenient at-home blood sugar monitoring
- Provides quick and accurate results
- Offers flexibility in blood application methods
How It Works
The test strip contains enzymes that react with the glucose in your blood sample. This reaction is measured by the meter and converted into a blood glucose reading. The strip’s design ensures efficient uptake of the blood sample for accurate results.
How To Use
Clean the test site and prepare the lancing device. Insert a test strip into the meter. Obtain a blood sample using the lancet. Apply the blood drop to the middle of the strip; it will spread above the testing spot. Blood can be applied either with the strip inserted in the glucometer or while the strip is outside the device. Wait for the meter to display your results.
Side Effects
When used as directed, Accu-Chek Active Test Strips do not typically cause side effects. However, improper use of lancets for blood sampling may cause pain or infection at the puncture site.
Warning
Do not use expired test strips. Always check the expiration date before use. Inaccurate results may occur if the strips are not stored properly or if they are damaged. Do not reuse test strips.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Accu-Chek Active Test Strips are safe to use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Regular blood glucose monitoring is especially important during pregnancy for women with diabetes.
Interactions
- Certain medications or high levels of other substances in the blood may interfere with test results
- Very high or low hematocrit levels may affect the accuracy of results
- Dehydration may lead to inaccurate results
- Altitude and temperature extremes may affect test results
Important Information
Store test strips in their original vial with the cap tightly closed. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Always wash and dry your hands before handling test strips. Use each strip immediately after removing it from the vial. Do not use wet, bent, or damaged strips. If you consistently get unexpected results, check with your healthcare provider and consider testing your meter with control solution.
