Natrixam 1.5/5mg tablets contain a lower dose combination of indapamide 1.5mg, a diuretic, and amlodipine 5mg, a calcium channel blocker, for managing hypertension in patients who require multi-drug therapy for adequate blood pressure control.
Uses
Natrixam 1.5/5mg provides dual complementary antihypertensive effects by promoting sodium and water excretion while relaxing blood vessels. It is indicated when monotherapy alone has not reduced elevated blood pressure sufficiently.
Benefits
- Achieves better BP lowering than individual components
- Lowers cardiovascular disease risk
- Once daily oral administration
- Well tolerated with minimal side effects
- Appropriate for Stage 1 and some Stage 2 hypertensives
Mechanism of Action
Indapamide reduces blood volume by increasing urinary sodium excretion while amlodipine causes vasodilation by blocking calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle.
Dosage
Adults take 1 tablet orally each morning, ideally at the same time daily. Dosage may be adjusted based on individual blood pressure monitoring.
Warning
Promptly report signs of electrolyte imbalance, gout flares or dangerously low BP. Requires close medical supervision.
Important Information
Inform your doctor of any kidney/liver disorders or heart conditions before use. Routine blood work helps monitor for side effects on kidney function and electrolyte levels.
