Emman Suspension is an innovative antimalarial medication that combines two powerful active ingredients: piperaquine 640mg and dihydroartemisinin 80mg for effective malaria treatment. This artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) provides fast-acting and long-lasting protection against malaria parasites.
Uses
Emman Suspension treats acute uncomplicated malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum parasites. It’s also effective against multidrug-resistant strains and can be used for both treatment and prevention of malaria in endemic regions.
Benefits
- Rapid clearance of malaria parasites
- Dual-action mechanism combats resistant strains
- Convenient once-daily dosing
- Short treatment duration (3 days)
- Effective against Plasmodium falciparum
- Liquid suspension format for easy pediatric dosing
- Extended protection against reinfection
- Favorable safety profile compared to older antimalarials
How It Works
Emman Suspension works through complementary mechanisms. Dihydroartemisinin rapidly reduces parasite load by generating free radicals that damage parasite proteins. Piperaquine provides extended antimalarial activity by disrupting parasite digestive vacuole function.
Duration of Action
Dihydroartemisinin acts quickly with a half-life of 1-2 hours. Piperaquine provides extended protection with a half-life of 22-24 days, preventing recurrence and reinfection.
Dosage
Weight | Recommended Dosage | Frequency |

Warnings
Complete the full 3-day course of treatment even if symptoms improve. Failure to complete treatment may result in recurrence and contribute to antimalarial resistance. Not recommended for severe malaria requiring intravenous therapy.
