How to Use
- Before Use:
- Wash hands thoroughly.
- Inspect the FlexPen to ensure the insulin suspension appears uniformly cloudy. Do not use if particles or discoloration are present.
- Roll the pen between your palms and invert it gently 10 times to mix the insulin evenly.
- Preparing the Dose:
- Attach a new disposable needle securely to the pen.
- Prime the pen by releasing 2 units of insulin to ensure proper flow and remove air bubbles.
- Dial the prescribed dose on the pen.
- Injection Site:
- Select a clean injection site, such as the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.
- Rotate injection sites to prevent skin thickening or lumps.
- Injecting the Insulin:
- Pinch the skin lightly and insert the needle at a 45° or 90° angle.
- Press the button completely to administer the dose. Hold the needle in place for 6-10 seconds to ensure full delivery.
- After Use:
- Remove the needle and dispose of it safely in a sharps container.
- Replace the cap on the FlexPen and store it properly.
Special Notes
- Storage: Store unused pens in a refrigerator (2°C-8°C). Avoid freezing. The in-use pen can be stored at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 4 weeks.
- Monitoring: Regularly monitor blood glucose levels to ensure optimal insulin dosing.
