How it works
Maxitrol Eye Drop combines three active ingredients:

- Neomycin sulphate: A broad-spectrum antibiotic that targets various bacteria. Together, these components work to reduce inflammation and fight bacterial infections in the eye.
Dosage
Typical dosage is 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 4-6 hours, or as directed by your ophthalmologist. In severe cases, dosage may be increased to 1-2 drops every hour. Always follow your doctor’s instructions regarding frequency and duration of use.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include:
- Temporary stinging or burning sensation
- Blurred vision
- Increased intraocular pressure (with prolonged use)
- Allergic reactions (rare) If you experience severe or persistent side effects, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
Warning
Prolonged use of corticosteroids may lead to glaucoma or cataracts. Do not use if you have a fungal or viral eye infection. Inform your doctor if you have glaucoma or are prone to increased intraocular pressure. This medication contains benzalkonium chloride, which may cause eye irritation and discoloration of soft contact lenses.

Maxitrol may interact with other topical eye medications. Inform your doctor about all medications you’re using, including over-the-counter products. Allow at least 5 minutes between applications of different eye medications.
Important Information
Maxitrol Eye Drop is a prescription medication and should only be used under the guidance of an eye care professional. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to avoid contamination. If using contact lenses, remove them before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed, even if symptoms improve.

Good morning,
It's important to follow the guidelines for the use of eye drops, especially after opening the bottle. If you used Maxitrol Eye Drops three months ago, it's generally advisable not to use the remaining drops now. Once opened, eye drops typically have a limited period during which they are safe and effective to use, often around one month, depending on the manufacturer's instructions.
