How to Use Seretide Diskus:
- Open the Diskus: Hold the Diskus in one hand and slide the thumb grip until you hear a click.
- Prepare the dose: Hold the Diskus flat with the mouthpiece facing you. Slide the lever until it clicks, loading the dose.
- Inhale the medication: Exhale fully away from the Diskus, place the mouthpiece between your lips, and take a deep, slow breath through your mouth.
- Hold your breath: Remove the Diskus and hold your breath for 10 seconds (or as long as is comfortable).
- Close the Diskus: Slide the thumb grip back to its original position after inhalation.
- Rinse your mouth: After using Seretide Diskus, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out to reduce the risk of fungal infections (oral thrush).
Important and Special Note
- Not for acute relief: Seretide Diskus is a maintenance medication and should not be used for immediate relief of breathing problems. Always keep a rescue inhaler (like albuterol) handy for sudden asthma attacks.
- Regular use: Use the medication at the same time every day, even if you feel better, to keep your symptoms under control.
